Finding Our Connection

In my last blog a little over a month ago, “The Deepest Depths and Sunniest Skies,” I wrote about how life can move and change so quickly, emphasizing the point that we all need a space to retreat sometimes. It is the stillness and silence that help us to heal, gives space for reflection, and allows us to breathe within those spaces that may be a little more sensitive than others. When we do, we can take off our armor and tend to our unique needs. During the time between blog posts, I have been trying to do just that. I was lucky enough to explore some places that I had never been to. Sometimes getting out of our routine can really shake the dust off our eyes in order to see in a new way. Going into forests, witnessing open fields that stretch for miles, and working with distant lands can really give your perspective a wider lens. I am grateful for that and have been reflecting on what it all means to me and how it fits into my life. Those posts will be coming. For today, a simple message wanted to come out in the meantime.

We are energy beings that shift and change multiple times a day. We have joys, dreams, goals, responsibilities, and priorities. We are multifaceted creatures that try to maintain some sort of order in our world so it all makes make sense in our minds. We can enjoy our routines yet still crave the changes that we dream about. While we may hope to expand our own boundary lines and summon the courage it takes to break the rules we impose upon ourselves, the pressures from the outside world with the constant stream of strife can overwhelm us. The constant noise can be too much at times, distracting us from what is truly important. As a result, we can become frustrated and even afraid to take the next steps to move towards our goals. However, this does not have to be where our story ends.

Trying to carve out a little time each day just for you helps to balance that feeling. A solution can be something as simple as getting up a few minutes earlier for a short meditation or shutting the phone and TV off at night to unplug from the world. If you are in the middle of a work day, excuse yourself and find your way outside for a moment or even the restroom to stop and take a breath. It is about finding your own safe harbor within yourself to ease the tensions away. This gives you your power back and brings you to center. Once there, you can allow yourself to begin again with a fresh perspective. It is about finding the signal, your own signal in the noise around you. That is why discernment is so important. Because when we know what is true and what is not, we can find our way to center a little easier, allowing us to be fully within our bodies, ready for what comes next.

As we juggle many obligations in our daily lives, it is also important to allow ourselves to stretch out upon the earth. There is wisdom and nurturing that can take place when we allow ourselves to unfurl like the lush, fertile green rolling hills under a blue and sunny sky. Connecting with these images, we allow the energy from them to flow within and around our own energy. Nature sends out her own signal and reminds us that we are a part of her and her blessings. Nature offers peace, stillness, and silence and so much more. When we see and experience it on the outside of us, we open the doors to those places within ourselves. That is when we understand that we are not the noise around us. We are connected to something that is infinite and through that, we are as well.

I hope you take some time to stretch out your energy in a place that is beautiful to you. Find your signal within the noise. It will help you find your way forward.

Blessings to you today and always,
